At 3 years old Hispanic children of Spanish-only speaking homes will already be 7 months behind.
Parents lack information about the educational gap their children face.
Many Hispanic families don't have access to tools and materials that cover the five early literacy skills.
Adventures in Literacy
¡Leí Leí! is an educational system for Mexican-American children and their parents,
that helps them gain early literacy skills while supporting their cultural identity.
Children are introduced to the five early literacy skills all schools require through
Mexican American characters that reflect their transcultural identity.
A bilingual curriculum helps parents follow along as the child gains
both English and Spanish literacy skills. As a member of the Hispanic community
and being Mexican-American, the largest part of that community, I know it is my
responsibility to help other families make their child's education a successful one.
